Coaching
In coaching the client determines the agenda
In each session the client chooses the focus of the dialogue. The
coach listens and contributes observations and
questions.
This interaction creates clarity which is converted into plans for action. There
is a unique relationship
between coach and client; the coach focuses 100% on the client.
There is no multi-fit formula.
A coach fulfils a different
role from a mentor or advisor
A coach is supportive
without being interfering, challenging without being
judgemental
The coach asks penetrating questions to elicit in the client new ways of
thinking, this generates new answers,
new learning and action. The role of the coach is to empower the client to
come up with the own answers rather
than giving them advice. Coaching encourages innovation. Coaching
creates accountability.
Coaching from strengths
opens up possibilities for change in a spirit of 'can do'
Coaching accelerates the client's progress by providing greater
focus and awareness of choice
Coaching works to unleash the client's potential, deepen their learning,
improve their performance and enhance
their quality of life. Coaching starts from where the client is now and
looks ahead to where they want to be in the
future. Coaching asserts that
people really can change and as they change important discoveries can be made.
Coaching thrives on
honesty, openness and a willingness to accept challenges
A key element in coaching is inspiration through which
powerful visions can be made real
The coach uses simple tools and exercises to draw out and analyse
important information, to create structure,
to evoke scenarios, establish direction and impart purposeful momentum.
Coaching puts a framework in place
within which strengths can be utilised and weaknesses can be accepted and worked
on from a strong base.
Coaching can help people
produce extraordinary results in their lives, businesses, organisations and
careers
